Deedrah is one of Frédéric Holyszewski aka Dado project names. Dado is releasing his trance productions under this name since 1995, and there are 3 albums of DEEDRAH so far : Self oscilation (Distance /Questionmark rds) ,Reload (Alien News)and body and soul ( spun rds ).Deedrah covers the more melodic areas of dado's wider range of productions (SYNTHETIC, TRANSWAVE, GBU, KROMEANGELZ and Federico baltimore )

2. What does Deedrah mean?

It's an old celtic woman name. This name has been chosen by Dado and DJ Sid Shanti as a side name for Dado's productions while he was still making music under the name of TRANSWAVE. After the split of the band in 1997 it became a logical name for his solo productions. If your name is Deedrah, read the following :

4. Who is Dado?

Dado is Frédéric HOLYSZEWSKI. He was born on the 9th of march 1970 in Melun (FRANCE). His father is from Ukraine (kiev ) and his mother is from northern of Italy (stresa ), he's been raised in France.He is now a spanish resident ( baleares)

He's been learning classical music since his childhood, playing piano and transverse flute.HE quickly after adolescence formed rock band with school mates ( new religgion and Vision quest).When all members of vision quest left the formation to leave a more reasonable adult life, frederic found himself alone, writing music under the song format for 3 or 4 years.That is the times of the first ATARI STs and samplers / synths. As his familly couldn t afford to help him buying the ever-growing needs of frederic new activity, frederic started accepting to perform small gigs , playing live in restaurants around his parents place, celebration and community parties. That is also around this time that he played his first dj set, playing compilation cds for a croud of mentally handicaped people .( clearly an announcment of his future carreer ! ) .He wanted to be a biology teacher. He's got a Master in biology/geology (PARIS 6) but stopped his studies when he was 25 years old to produce the early Transwave tracks.

5. Where does Dado live?

He lives in SAN MIGUEL/IBIZA (BALEARES). The SYNthetic sound labs are located 10 meters from the house.The House itself is a studio /office .He's producing most his music there and does also studio works for record companies and produces also in other artists from the island.( KOXBOX, GBU, ANTIDOTE , ETNICA ,TRANSWAVE. SHANTI, GMS )

6. What kind of equipment does Deedrah use?

The way music is produced is a balance of old and new. He used to produce his music on analogue gears like SH101, TB303 and consorts ( mostly second hand gear form tokyo ) .but he's now making an extensive use of Apple computers (one is connected to the net, where he finds audio elements for his production ), one deals with the hard disk recording system and the third one, laptop, is used for his live performances). Most of his sounds are produced directly from the Mac with softwares like Metasynth, Absynth, Reaktor,Vanguard and apple's Logic PRO. An analog mixer concentrate the flow from all this digital source in combination with analog outboard gear ( manley variable MU, analog synths.) The studio's front end is also connected to all sort of mics , to record live sound sources like voice , acoustic instruments and other live ambience.To perform live dado uses ABLETON LIVE 6.

7. If I like Deedrah, what other music might I like?

You should be into full on trance and psychedelic trance. You should like GMS, SHANTI , ABSOLUM, SPACECATS , BLACK AND WHITE , X dream, amongst many other psy bands.

8. What does Deedrah listen to at home?

A ton of samples! As for previously recorded music : Jazz , french 80's pop music , classical music, drum n bass and electro house.

9. Is Dado producing only trance music?

SYNTHETIC is the other project from Dado, representing an electro/techno edge to his music. The new album from Synthetic is going to be released in early 2007. right after the 4th deedrah album.

Arriving in Ibiza, Dado's been touched by the whole different atmosphere outside of his studio (very different from the parisian basement he used to make music in). He's a lot into groovy house and lounge music. All theses tracks to be released under the name of Fédérico Baltimore...

Dado used to do masters for different artists cds and labels compilations, and also does productions for french TV.He also did sound design for computer games, but now is fully dedicated to his own carreer.

10. Where was Reload recorded?

Most of the album has been produced at the "casa Irene" studio in the country side of the Ibiza island. The Reload track itself has been recorded in Dado' s previous studio in Paris, where the 3dvision studios stands now. This track is a collaboration between GRM (Dado's graphix designers for 3 years now) and was supposed to be a "kind-of-Transwave" track. The track found a quick succes all over the world, and is still played at most trance parties around the world. Reload has been voted "track of the year" by "Newzeek Mag" in Israel.

The album contains also as the final track of the album, final swirl which was supposed to appear on The electric boy, unreleased album from Deedrah.
